Dehumidifier, Ducted, 65 pt Review

Installed this DR65 by connecting it to my HVAC return chase. Goal was to lower the humidity thereby allowing the HVAC A/C to be set to a warmer temp. Had to use the A/C last summer to lower the humidity but then the temp was too cold. House is very tight and very well insulated so the A/C is probably now over-sized. Used 8" take-offs and 8" flex to attach it to the HVAC return chase. Flex length is under 4 ft. Very quiet with the 8" flex attached. Used clear tubing to drain it into the A/C condensate drain with a loop acting as the "P" trap. Once the TN outside temps hit the 80s and humid, there was a constant thin stream of condensate draining. At colder temps and lower humidity, the condensate "pulses" about every 5 secs. Built-in humidity control seems to work great. Used an Aquaguard AG-1250E overflow pan sensor to shutdown the DR65 in case of any overflow. HVAC fan is on at all times to equalize the temps so there is no need to wire the DR65 into the HVAC thermostat.
