About 15 months ago I got the Foreign Accent Fettuccine rugs for my bedroom and living room. They are DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Lovely, soft, long ribbon shag, well made Durable rugs. I have 3 cats who play hide and seek in them, have thrown up on them, shed on them and they clean up miraculously!!!!! And Anyone who walks through my front door admires them!!! BUT, I wanted to try something different for my family room, so when I saw the Surya Fusion---and I admire Candice Olsen-- I ordered a sample...To see how it compared. First thing out of the package I thought YUK.
The shag is short and looks like a butch haircut. There is a silver thread mingled with the ribbons. The ribbons are like a thin, soft leather. They are silver but the backing is black which darkens the over all look and at first glance I thought it looked salt and pepper-y. I think the Surya would work for maybe a kids play room or family room but it is not really soft on bare feet. However, the satin ribbons do repel everything and seem to be resistant to staining. You can wipe it with a wet cloth. And vacuum with no beaters. So---bottom line---if you want elegance and beauty get the Foreign Accents. For practicality--I suppose go for the Surya.
