I gave the Console Cabinet, itself, 3 Stars. I would give the company my order came from, UnbeatableSales, ZERO stars. I just went to Amazon and, it appears, the Console Cabinet is being distributed by different company(s) now.
I live in Napa, CA, and the cabinet "look" is great for this area. The color is as described, very nice, and it's small size will accommodate all sorts of locations. I live in a place where the front office accepts all deliveries - so when I picked-up the cardboard-boxed Console Cabinet, I had no idea of the damage inside. The box looked as tho it had traveled, via the FedEx truck, many miles, which it had, but did not appear severely damaged. The console was unpacked only to discover 3 of the top 4 corners was, indeed, very crushed/damaged. I emailed UnbeatableSales and, to make a very long story short, was offered $30. discount off the retail price.
Unbeatable Sales claimed that they would send an inspector and I needed to have the original shipping cardboard for that inspection. Now listen carefully: I explained that the cardboard was gone to the dumpster, I sent color photographs of the 3 damaged corners attached to the email damage report - which would indicate that the packing was insufficient. I, also, explained that, as is the case with all orders, the consumer should NOT be the one held liable and pay the ultimate price for damaged merchandise:
1) the consumer did not inspect the item before packing for shipment 2) the consumer did not pack the item for shipment 3) the consumer did not transport the item from the distribution point to the purchaser 4) the consumer paid the dollar price, in good faith, for which the item was listed and has every right to expect an item undamaged and as described in the sales ad/website.
