Atlantic Furniture Miami Modern Platform Bed with Flat Panel Footboard in Caramel Latte - Full Review

I agonized over platform beds before going with this one. It is very sleek-looking, and despite my small master BR with a King mattress, it doesn't make the bed overwhelm the room. There are two heights to which you can adjust the platform, the low height (which I chose) or a few inches higher to accommodate the matching drawers. At the lower height I can easily fit my rubbermaid under-the-bed boxes.

The slats are very sturdy and not more than 3" apart. There is a slight curve to the headboard that adds a unique and subtle look. The bed was relatively easily to put together, it came with okay instructions.

My only complaint would be with either the packaging/manufacturing plant (which was in Vietnam) or whomever gave the package to the carrier as one of the rails was dinged with a 1" gash, which is not noticeable with the bed put together. Also, the metal prongs at the end of the rails were bent (although they are heavy-duty) and I had to hammer them back into shape in order to fit in to the slots. Lastly, the metal prongs don't hold the rail as tightly to the headboard as they do at the footboard, even though I did try reversing them which didn't solve it.

So despite some minor quality control issues and a few bad handling issues, I feel as though I got a good value in this bed. I didn't spend a fortune but I didn't skimp on price, either. I did lots of research before buying, and as with many things, spending less money isn't always better. Furniture and appliances seem to ring true to this :)

Good finish, color is darker than how it looks. Finish was good, no scrathes. Drawers are on wheels, so, they are smooth. But there are no stops provided to prevent drawer from completely coming out. Also, the bottom board was cardboard, and cracked. But since it is not visible, as it is under the bottom-most drawer, I suppose, that is OK.

I purchased this for our shop after reviewing video demonstration of the product. Upon receiving the vacumm I found that the video was not accurate. The suction on the machine is almost non existant and the beater brush doesn't spin. The overall appearance of the product is cheap and not very well made. For the price I expected a study well built machine, which this is not. I am returning it for a full refund. I have a manual push broom that picked up items better than this vacumm.
