This is a primary line of defense against allergy attacks in my world -- for many reasons. It's light and portable, I can easily move it from room to room as needed without aggravating joint pain, etc. It has a washable filter, not replacement filters that will soon make their way into the local landfill. It's very quiet on the low setting. I generally clean a room on high speed before I am ready to settle down in that room, then switch to low when I'm present. I sleep with the filtered air flow directed toward my head and wake up with much lower incidence of allergic symptoms. GREAT & WORTHY PRODUCT! It WORKS! >> HOWEVER >> any price above $169 is probably a price gouge unless you live in a remote location where you don't have a superstore of any kind. You should be able to find it on the floor at Loew's, Fred Meyer, WalMart, etc for $169 or less. Happy hunting! CAVEAT -- this review applies to a non-smoking environment.
